It’s a cartographic vector relational database (RDB). Geometry has a topological structure. It has been acquired from cartography at scale 1:250.000 (Map “Il Mondo JOG 1501” series 250/G).
There are 10 thematic contents: Transport Networks, Hydrography, Natural and Administrative Boundaries, Human Settlements, Vegetation, Geomorphology, Industries, Services, Elevation, Data Quality. Each thematic group contains a dataset describing geographic features. They are in VPF (Vector Product Format) enhanced according to the DIGEST (Digital Geographic Exchange Standard). Geographic coordinates (“noprojection”) are given in sexagesimal degrees. The horizontal geodetic system is WGS84, while the vertical one refers to Genova 1942.
