The exhibition "Galileo. Universe images from ancient times to telescope", on the occasion of the International Year of astronomy, will celebrate the fourth centenary of the extraordinary astronomical discoveries made by Galileo through the telescope. The ways in which the structure of the Universe was conceived through the history of civilization of the Mediterranean and Europe countries will be discussed and the impact of cosmology on geography will be analysed together with the relationship between astronomy and astrology. The exhibition will explain this fascinating story through archaeological finds, works of art, extraordinary scientific instruments, precious manuscripts and rare printed volumes, the whole supported by multimedia and interactive technologies.
